Never before in my entire life had I learnt in a manner so simple, so unconventional, yet so effective.
On the first day of your b school you expect your professors to be thoroughly professional in their approach because after all that's why you go to a B-school right? To become a PROFESSIONAL. But here was Dr Mandi, the name he is popular by, entering our classroom with an aura of an iconoclast. You could instantly feel yourself intrigued in knowing more about his persona.
As you would not expect we all sat down on the floor with Dr. Mandi on the dais and the fun began. His approach was pretty simple: No books, no notes. Keep your mind open. Learn. Earn. He distributed toys, made us laugh and the mood was set. With this simple toy he taught us the lessons of curiosity and learning through earning. Management can be made simple by practical learning not only through case studies but also through games and toys and activities that have a lasting effect.
Since you pay fees to learn, you should simultaneously earn. Isn't it fair? Isn't it rational? When the whole purpose of management is to increase earnings why not learn by earning?
My second day at B-school ended well. As i went back to my hostel room and thought of about how the day passed by, I couldn't help but ponder over the lessons learnt from this unusual learning experience.
Kudos yaar! Gr8 job!
